FORT WORTH — Texas coach Tom Herman and his staff just added another piece to the puzzle.
FW All Saints’ Max $#@!mins committed to Texas tonight. The 6-foot-5, 250-pounder was recently offered by TCU and Baylor, and as soon as UT called, he came.
His potential is the most appealing. He runs a 4.7 (40), 4.1 (shuttle), 30′ vertical, 327 on the bench, and 500 on the squat. Texas likes him at defensive end.
Quick evaluation from Eric Nahlin:
“How often do you hear me talk about fit? I discuss it so often because it’s essential for success for all players who aren’t necessarily elite. $#@!mins couldn’t be a better fit at a position where resources are limited – 4i defensive end.
In Orlando’s scheme he’ll be tasked to play big versus interior linemen while sometimes being asked to be a stand-up rusher. When not holding the point of attack, he’ll be asked to knife through and make plays. He demonstrates this ability throughout his tape, albeit against much lesser competition.
You can’t teach size, and at 6-foot-5 + and 250 pounds he has plenty of it. He also shows good lateral agility and initial quickness.
He won’t be a high sack number guy, but he will be versatile and reliable in all phases if he puts in the work.”
$#@!mins is the 14th member of UT’s Class of 2017. He joins Marqez Bimage (Brenham), Reese Leitao (Jenks, OK), Derek Kerstetter (SA Reagan), Daniel Young (Spring Westfield), Cade Brewer (Lake Travis), Toneil Carter (Langham Creek), Joshua Rowland (MGCCC, Juco) Taquon Graham (Temple), Montrell Estell (Hooks), Kobe Boyce (Lake Dallas), Damion Miller (John Tyler), Sam Ehlinger (Austin Westlake), and Josh Thompson (Nacogdoches).

HornedFrogBlitz: Max $#@!mins seeing his recruitment skyrocket
A 30 foot vertical seems like a real weapon
I take it with $#@!mins we are done at DE, so the JUCOs are out?
Who da fuq is dat guy?
Late bloomer big athlete that could project to DE, OT or TE?
Ok. Fine. I'll allow it.
Still can't help but wonder what Chase Rogers is up to after whiffing on Polley and offering Zabie.
Cosmi on deck?
Anyone ever get confirmation on Sheffield being an EE or not?
I kid. I kid.
I would think $#@!mins spot was the one earmarked for the 2nd JUCO DT if we missed on Ryan Johnson, which seems extremely likely at this point. I wonder how long the staff will stay patient with that DT committed to Ole Miss.
First it was derka. Now danger snax.
Is Rusty gonna have to use third person to get a Steel Shank reference for the hat-trick?
Not a fan of either danger snax or derka. But Rusty do like him some sammiches and using the third person, so Sir Steel Shank is cool with Rusty yo.
Whats our board look like now?
I would say landing Chaisson, keeping Graham, and landing Johnson are far and away the three biggest battles ahead for Herman. Landing a second top-tier WR was also up there but that ship has sailed with Manning and Rambo re-affirming their commitments.
Buncha folk say they ain’t too keen on Tom Brady either.
Yet. Bündchen ass and trophies and large livin’ don’t care.
Like slots. Who can hate the grody dirty mushroom when it lines up..?
I still ball-peen pituitaries ‘round here, always the loving nut too, way dang pro Horn and have sworn to love the boat we’re in regardless. Haven’t whiffed barf since Kansas, sure do feel we’re up on Southern Cal at half, maybe just me.
Rambo, GJ and Chaisson are my musts lusts/I think likelies, to StickOnPage.
