We $#@!ing suck!
Kawhi is just a beast.
He's getting close to being unstoppable.
Manu still getting caught up in the air under the basket becoming the turnover machine from the Finals.
Is Timmy hurt? I don't see him on the bench. I wonder if that elbow messed him up?
I think Mike Miller started to have flashbacks midway through that fast break.
Taco Cabana chick.
I flip flop between wanting to impregnate her and fantasizing punching her in the throat.
Patty Mills had a nice game, 1-0! No hangover from the finals, even with Timmy injured the Spurs laid it on a very good team.
The Spurs improved to 15-1 under Coach Popovich in season openers, the most wins on opening night among active NBA coaches.
Hey Grizzlies, we have our own bear, and his name is Kawhi.
(FYI, I'll be using that bear line all season. It's already found its way into my conversations at home. "It's like you're part bear!")
Oh, and I am completely ok with sitting Tim for the time he needs for the bruise to heal if it means Kawhi can get some more work in around the blocks.
Apparently Congrats are in order to Tony's pending fatherhood and marriage!

CT scan confirms chest contusion for Tim. Listed as doubtful for tomorrow night. Whatever, sit him for half the season. Let kawhi take over
Here in the ATL I caught some of Coach Bud's chat on the Hawks' home radio station. He was dissecting the team's play against Dallas. You could tell he wants the Hawks to play like the Spurs...but seems resigned to the fact it will be a long time coming...if ever. I also was struck by just how monotone Bud is. A walking bottle of melatonin. Makes Pop seem positively chatty on the air.
So Timmy update:
Basically a bad chest bruise, he's out for tonight, I'd estimate he probably misses 2-3 games..
Thoughts on Memphis Win:
- That was some beautiful basketball in the second quarter - the ball movement was fantastic - amongst the best I've seen since Game 2 of that OKC series two years ago though Game 3 of the 2013 Finals comes super close
- Kawhi is better than last year but I still think he needs the mid-range game of a Paul George or a go to move attacking the rim to really make "the leap" offensively. Defensively, he's already there - one of the best on the ball defenders in the game. His post game has gotten a lot better though, which makes it easier to play him as the small ball 4
- Manu looked very sprightly, but the best part I think was that he was attacking the rim with abandon like the Manu of old and finishing at the rim. Last year he seemed super tentative (other than Game 5 where he caught lightning in a bottle) and settled for loads of jumpers. Scoring Manu is at his best playing the Harden game, i.e. attacking the rim, taking threes, and getting to the line - admittedly discount Harden at this point of his career.
Manu does not get the calls that he used to and he needs to adjust accordingly. He was used to getting bailed out, but he stopped getting that a few years ago. Those 8 turnovers in the game not to be mentioned last year would have been 4 with 4 fouls back in 03-09 or so.
I realize the Lakers are a shadow of their former selves and without Kobe can't be expected to do much. But that has no impact on my loathing of them or my desire to see SA beat them by 85. Death to the infidels.
Really ugly so far. Liking Patty Mills' energy though.
There is still a lot of time left, but they need to quit being so $#@!ing sloppy.
You never want to see a bunch of guys who can't get their own shot trying to get their own shot.
There we go, nice little run there. Still not as smooth as they should be, but there's improvement.
