Aston extended out to 2020, now makes $770k per year + 220k/year in incentives.
She's now third in compensation in the Big 12 behind Mulkey and Coale.
Sedona Prince just committed. #9 player in the 2018 class.
6'7 is back!!
Yes, it's basically a re-commitment (she decommitted in 2014) but chose Texas over L'ville, Oregon State, ND, UConn and TCU.

A little off topic, but this does matter - A&M's top 2016 prospect did not make it in. She didn't qualify.
They had 1 top 100 player in the 2016 class and she didn't qualify. Compared to:
Texas - 2 (both in top 10)
Texas Tech - 2
TCU - 1 (#12)
Baylor - 3 (all in the top 18)
A&M is quickly becoming irrelevant in the state as TCU and Tech look to become the 3rd/4th in-state school destination for top prospects after Baylor and Texas grabs the ones at the top.
Megan Walker with her last in home visit. Should be getting a decision soon.
So Joyner Holmes is named National preseason freshman of the year and yet our league of coaches have decided she's not even the best freshman in the Big 12.
Big 12 Preseason Team
I seriously hope this is the chip on her shoulder she needs to light Baylor up for 40 $#@!ing points.
well in the league's defense, the girl picked by Big 12 coaches isn't exactly an unknown scrub.
Alecia Sutton officially cleared to play!
I'm loving seeing Jamie Carey in all of these pictures. Hope she turns out to be a fantastic hire.
USA Today Coaches Poll preseason poll:
3 South Carolina
6 Ohio State
11 Mississippi State
12 Florida State
16 Arizona State
17 Oregon State
22 Michigan State
23 Texas A&M
25 West Virginia
4 against the top 5
5 against the top 10
8 against the top 15
12 against the top 25
#3 2017 recruit Rellah Boothe will be making her OV to Texas. When? I think this weekend.
Also, Megan Walker retweeting Matt Coleman things. Texas is the school they have in common. Good sign??

edit: Also all of the Texas games will be broadcast nationally other than our games @TTU and @WVU
edit 2: Our girls shouldn't be able to ring in the new year since they have a noon game on January 1st against Iowa State. Don't want to be hungover for that game.

Megan Walker decision a week from tomorrow.
Time to get a real look at this new team
We're starting Kelsey Lang and Audrey-Ann. Interesting
Playing a little out of control and not covering the 3 well.
Joyner looks good
Ariel playing like an AA already
Tarleton making it rain 3s. Big area of weakness already?
22-22 after the 1st quarter. DII and DIII schools make up for their lack of size with superior shooting. We have to do a better job of guarding the 3.
Holmes is already the best player on the team. She will be starting in a couple weeks.
Holmes leading the fast break up the court was beautiful.
I would play Holmes at the 5 until other teams show they can score on her. We our stacked at guard, we should be trying to get as many of them on the court as possible.
There's no way 5s can guard Holmes with her quickness. If they aren't scoring on her it creates all types of mismatches.
It also makes us much more athletic on the defensive end if we can play Holmes at the 5. Would help us defend the 3 on those PnR sets where we have to switch our bigs on to PGs at times.

Shook got good handles.
We should go small and run. We have so many athletes. I'm not really a fan of playing Caron-Goudreau and Lang together as starters, but I'm sure that will change.
I was about to say we are passing the ball so much better. No more airmailed balls. Then through Ariel's legs lol
Goudreau is a good rebounder. No reason she can't play the 5.
Goudreau is playing the 5 now with Holmes at the 4.
I'm not going to be surprised if Lang ends up being the odd man out by midseason. She will still get minutes but she's not as talented as Holmes or Goudreau, who should be getting minutes at the 5.
Impressed with Goudreau. Thought she was more like Lang in terms of kick and pop type player. But she has some inside game.
Aston is starting to stagger Lang and Goudreau's minutes at the 5. Pretty sure this is what will happen in the season.
Man I cannot wait for Stanford
TexasStrong, you think we roll out a Shook-Brooke-Ariel-Holmes-Audrey-Ann starting 5 eventually? Let Brooke shoot and Shook run the offense?
The most talented lineup would be Brooke, Higgs, Ariel, Holmes and Audrey Ann in some fashion. That lineup would be very tough to defend and could run. Atkins is versatile and could very easily play the 3.
I actually like Shook off the bench. She seems like a spark plug type player off the bench.

The best thing about this roster is we have a lot of versatile players that can play multiple positions.
93-43 final. Stanford on the 14th
