Yeah I had high hopes against WVU but that five minute stretch where we couldn't inbounds due to press turnovers, a five second call, over and back, stepping on the line, bad pass, etc just killed it.
Baylor is also only -6 vs OU. Baylor should romp.
OU is normally good. They're wet dog $#@! this year. And just like GIA, OU selling the place out won't stop from Baylor from beating them 80-something to 60-something.
Of course Scott Drew is still in charge, and it will never surprise me when one of his teams $#@!s the bed.

Osu is pretty impotent against the pressure defense. Forte is going to piss some people off this year I can just feel it.
How quickly does Iowa State go from exciting especially at home to complete utter garbage?
We were warned about this from one of our resident ISU fans. When the team is completely uninspired during OOC play it's a bad omen for Big XII play.
BU up 36-17 on OU at the half. Shocker.
How the $#@! does OU only have 24 at the U-15 in the 2nd half? Baylor might legitimately win the damn conference if they don't have injuries.
If Baylor didn't let off I think the score would've been like 86-45
So we won, but I think you all finally see why I'm so pessimistic about this bunch
Kansas is going to get murdered by Baylor and WVU.
That TCU "star player", #0, might be legitimately regarded.
After game 1, and getting a better feel of the teams I'd say this.
I legit do not know how to rank the teams in this conference other than tier grouping. TCU, Tech and OSU are all much better than I thought they'd be. UT and OU are much worse. KSU is about where I figured they would be. KSU winning by 3 at home against a UT team that has really struggled should be concerning to them. OU getting hammered by Baylor at home should be concerning to them. OSU struggled against the press is not a surprise. Underwood will not have seen something like this often if ever so will need a few years to adapt to that style and how to play against it.
KU struggled on the road against a TCU team that looks vastly improved. TCU definitely improved their coaching and the talent seems to be much better than what Johnson was bringing in but it could just be KU had a bad night and TCU was on fire. Need to see more from the frogs but they were impressive in their opener even if it was a loss.
Lol a bad night. If Lucas didn't bring his "A" game y'all would've lost. It's really that cut and dry. He had what, 17 rebounds? And you let one of their bigs have like a 30 point career night.
The KU team I saw last night will not be able to beat WVU or Baylor who have better bigs than TCU and also experienced guard play. TCUs guard wasted time dribbling around in the final minute instead of trying to get a shot up. They will be good though.
I think you're thinking we were exposed but I personally think you're wrong. If you didn't know we were going to give up points inside then you haven't paid attention to our 2 deep big man roster. If you think TCU isn't vastly improved then you're wrong. Dixon has them playing with great fundamentals and they are playing within themselves. They have a 27 RPI and they will be ranked at some point this year. In fact, they're the only team in the big12 that is actually on the upswing compared to last year (aside from Baylor but the frogs have taken a bigger leap). Finally, you're also talking about a ku team that's only loss is to a team that hit 50% from 3 scoring 45 points from beyond the arc.
Ku is clearly not a deep team and played a 7 man rotation last night. It will be a dog fight to win #13 but I don't see us being murdered by anyone. We'll lose some games but losing one game or two games doesn't mean you lose the conference.
Remember, if we assume ku gets 8-9 wins at home then they need 6-7 road wins. They got one last night and will likely get road wins at ksu and Texas. From there we need 3-4 more and the conference is probably won.

Regarding the rest of the league, I think the tiered approach is the only way to rank them as well. I would probably put tcu in the 4-5 slot and move IsU down. I think OSU is a very mediocre team from the 10 minutes of their game that I watched. If forte has a bad night then they aren't going to have fun. I also really liked how tech played. They're going to win a few games. I think Weber finally gets fired after this year.

If Lucas continues to have 10+pts and 10+rbs a game then he should be the Big 12s most improved player and they will win. His 15 (or more) rebounds I believe we're the difference between a win and a loss last night.
I don't see that happening though since he hasn't shown it in his previous 3 years.
Baylor jumps Kansas. Now we get to see how they play with the target on their backs against ISU and OSU this week.
KU has KSU on the 3rd (tomorrow) and TTU on the 7th
Both teams are playing at home this week
WVU has TTU at Lubbock and then TCU at home.
First huge game of the season is on the 10th Baylor at WVU
Baylor has played well and is undefeated. Can't complain about their placement. Fuel to the fire for our guys hopefully. Lots of big games coming up. This month. Can't wait.
We thought we would have an easier road this year. The udoka injury hurts really bad and the schedule doesn't help.
Sunflower State showdown and WVU-TTU tonight.
Two measurement games for Tech and KSU in my mind. You can't expect them to win and they may not keep it close just because of talent disparity but watching their fundamentals will tell us a lot about how they will stack up against the middle and bottom of the league. I really want to watch tech. I think they have a good team that just isn't quite there yet. I think they could surprise in this league and possibly end up in the 4-6 spot.
Yeah, KSU seems destined to the bottom part but TTU can be anywhere. Them and TCU I'm more interested in out of everyone besides the top three.
Since when did KSU have Coolio playing on their team?
KU up 2 at the under-8 on ESPN2.
If Kansas holds off K-State here and Oklahoma State beats Baylor Saturday, do the Jayhawks clinch the league title?
Tied with 1:39 left.
K St ball for the win with 19.6 left.
